First Presbyterian Church actively contributes to and participates in a variety of community as well as world-wide programs and services.

• Alliance for Interfaith Ministries - providing emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and medical needs
• Alternative Marketplace - an alternative holiday gift market supporting indigenous global artisans, global economic development projects, and First Presbyterian Church's own outreach ministries
• Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church - support for our Presbytery District's new church plant and evangelism programs in Greene County
• Bridge Ministry - ministry to men in recovery from addictions and in transition from incarceration
• Building Goodness Foundation - planning and building public structures such as medical clinics, schools, and community centers, both locally and in such countries as Haiti and Guatemala

• First Presbyterian Church Preschool Scholarship Program
• Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville
• Hunger Ministries: Soup Kitchen every Wednesday, Thanksgiving Food Baskets, CROP Walk, Emergency Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and the Blue Ridge House Thanksgiving Meal
• IMPACT (Interfaith Movement Promoting Action by Congregations Together) - a grassroots collaboration of a diverse group of faith congregations living out the common call to do justice in the local community
• Katrina Rehabilitation/Mississippi Gulf Coast - multiple mission trips each year
• Montreat Conference Center - financial support for camps and conferences
• PACEM (People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry) - a night-time homeless shelter which rotates through the Charlottesville-Albemarle area faith congregations, providing meals and overnight hospitality during the winter months
• Pakistan - partnerships with Forman Christian College and the Presbyterian Education Board of Pakistan
• Summer mission trips annually to Brazil, Mexico, and Appalachia, open to youth and adults
